The video covers Triq Rodolfu, Triq Sant’Alfonsu, Triq Santa Margerita and Triq San Franġisk — streets where rubbish left on pavements has become an almost constant sight.
What is particularly frustrating is the recurring problem around short-let accommodation. Bags are repeatedly being placed outside at the wrong times or on the wrong collection days, leaving residents to walk past piles of rubbish until the next collection.
This is no longer an occasional bag that somebody forgot. In these streets it has become a repeated cleanliness and enforcement problem, particularly during the busy short-let season.
Collection schedules exist. Residents are expected to follow them. Short-let owners, operators and guests should be expected to do exactly the same.

More consistent enforcement and better responsibility from short-let operators is badly needed. Residents should not have to start their morning navigating rubbish-covered pavements.
