Useful Contacts & Reporting Links
Not sure who to contact about a problem? This page brings together useful authorities, organisations and reporting services across Malta and Gozo.
Reporting an issue to Malta Gone Wild does not replace reporting it to the relevant authority.
Where possible, report the problem directly first and keep any complaint or reference number you receive.
Short-Lets & Tourist Accommodation
Malta Tourism Authority
Concerned about a holiday apartment or short-let?
Check if the property is licensed
The Malta Tourism Authority maintains a public register of licensed establishments.
Malta:
Check Licensed Short-Lets
Gozo:
Check Licensed Short-Lets in Gozo
Try searching using the property name, street, locality or licence details.
If you cannot find a property, this does not automatically mean that it is unlicensed. Details may be registered differently, so contact the MTA if you remain concerned.
Report a Short-Let
Operating short-let accommodation without prior MTA authorisation is prohibited. Current rules also require operators to have a waste-management plan and a named person available 24 hours a day to handle complaints.

Before You Report
To help an authority investigate, provide as much useful factual information as possible:
- Exact location
- Date and approximate time
- Photos or video where appropriate
- A short description of what happened
- Property or business name if relevant
- Short-let listing URL where relevant
- MTA licence number if known
- Previous complaint reference numbers

Avoid unnecessary personal information or accusations.

Already Reported It?
If you have reported an issue to an authority and the problem continues, you can also submit it to Malta Gone Wild.
Tell us what happened, where it happened, who you reported it to and whether any action was taken.
Problem → Report → Action → Solution
Malta Gone Wild wants to highlight the problem, but also help people find the right route to do something about it.
