Malta Gone Wild is an independent community platform intended to document and highlight issues affecting communities across Malta and Gozo.

By accessing, using or submitting material to this website, you acknowledge and agree to the following.

1. Independent community platform

Malta Gone Wild is independently operated and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, authorised by or acting on behalf of the Government of Malta, any local council, enforcement authority, police force, government department, public agency, political party, commercial organisation or other third party unless expressly stated otherwise.

The use of the words “Malta”, “Gozo”, locality names, public authorities or organisations is purely descriptive and does not imply any official relationship.

2. User-submitted content

Malta Gone Wild may publish reports, photographs, comments, descriptions, opinions and other material submitted by members of the public.

Such material is provided by third parties.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

4. Reports must concern the issue — not target individuals

Malta Gone Wild exists to highlight matters of legitimate community concern, including issues such as waste, illegal dumping, dirty or neglected streets, obstruction of pavements and public spaces, pollution, excessive noise, parking problems, antisocial behaviour and similar local concerns.

The platform must not be used to:

• harass, threaten, intimidate or shame individuals;
• conduct personal vendettas;
• publish unsupported allegations of criminality or misconduct;
• encourage abuse or harassment of any person;
• reveal private or sensitive personal information;
• publish home addresses, telephone numbers, private email addresses or identification numbers without lawful justification;
• identify children unnecessarily; or

5. Photographs, videos and personal information

Users should take reasonable care to avoid unnecessarily identifying private individuals in photographs or videos.

Where identifying information is not necessary to understand the reported issue, users are encouraged to obscure or avoid:

• faces;
• vehicle registration plates;
• private correspondence;
• telephone numbers;
• identification documents;

• children; and

Malta Gone Wild may blur, crop, redact or remove identifying information before or after publication where considered appropriate.

6. Responsibility of contributors

By submitting content to Malta Gone Wild, the contributor confirms, to the best of their knowledge, that:

Malta Gone Wild may reject or remove a submission where there are reasonable concerns regarding its accuracy, legality, relevance or appropriateness.

Malta Gone Wild reserves the right, at its discretion, to review, edit, redact, blur, restrict, reject, unpublish or remove any report, photograph, comment or other material.

This may include content considered:

• defamatory;
• threatening or abusive;

• unlawfully invasive of privacy;
• misleading or materially inaccurate;
• excessively personal;
• irrelevant to the purpose of the website;

Requests will be reviewed on their individual circumstances.

Malta Gone Wild may temporarily restrict access to content while a complaint is being assessed.

9. Corrections and right of response

Where appropriate, Malta Gone Wild may correct, update, annotate or remove published material after receiving credible information showing that it is inaccurate, misleading, outdated or otherwise unsuitable.
