Is this the new trend?
Footage submitted to Malta Gone Wild from Triq il-Qantar appears to show a man casually urinating in the street beside parked cars, as though the pavement has recently been upgraded with public toilet facilities nobody told residents about.
Apparently finding an actual toilet is now optional.
Residents already have enough to contend with when it comes to rubbish, noise and antisocial behaviour. Now, it seems, some streets are expected to double as open-air urinals too.
Perhaps the next infrastructure project can include a sign:
“Welcome to Triq il-Qantar. Toilets: apparently everywhere.”
Joking aside, public urination in residential streets is disgusting, disrespectful and completely unnecessary. People live here. They walk here. Children and families use these streets.
Is this becoming the new normal in Malta’s residential and tourist areas?
Because residents certainly shouldn’t be expected to accept it.
